When is Topps going to learn? Collectors just don’t give a crap about gimmick cards anymore.  Of course I can’t say everyone is unhappy with these Pie In The Face SP cards from 2010 Topps Series 1 set:

Robinson Cano – Sold for $49.24 (10 bids) <link>

Nick Swisher – Sold for $69.88 <link>

Jorge Posada – Sold for $116.49 (10 bids) <link>

2010 Topps Series 2 JASON HEYWARD Pie in the Face SP

Jason Heyward – Sold for $99.99 <link>

Alex Rodriguez – Sold for $81.53 <link>

Mitch Talbot – Sold for $89.99 <link>

As you can see there are a lot of morons out there paying 10 – 15 times what these cards are worth.  Don’t forget, when this card came out:

People were paying $40 – $50 for it.  Now it can be had for a dollar.  What’s your take on the Pie In The Face short prints?
