Every once in a while, there is a player that slips through the minor league cracks. Someone who gets as close as AAA, but his parent team never allows him to make the leap.  John Lindsey is his name and he is hitting over 0.400 in the minors right now.  He has been in the minors for 16 years and although he has shown some  power and average, he has never shown them together.

This season he is playing for the Albuquerque Isotopes and is hitting 0.405/10/44 with only 27 strikeouts in 199 at bats.  As a player who has never gotten the call, I think it’s about time he gets a cup.  Anyone who can withstand 16 years in the minors, he deserves it.  He can play the outfield, first and of course he can DH.

The only card I could come up with on eBay is the one pictured below and it is going for $2.  I am really hoping he gets the call and as far as buy or sell on his cards, I would buy because he’s a longshot who (hopefully) will make it.  I have to assume there are more cards of him out there, but I can’t find them.  Anyone has any feelings toward John Lindsey?

I’ve never heard of him… but I’d pull for him if he was on the Padres or A’s.
